WWE ECW Wrap Up July 15, 2008 Results and Lack of Hightlights

July 20th 2008 06:56
ECW – Charlotte, North Carolina

The show started off with Tazz in the ring interviewing ECW Champion Mark Henry, and his new manager Tony Atlas. Apparently they had a demonstration for us. Atlas got some props from ringside. Atlas had Henry take the frying pan and bang it against the ring post to show it was real. Atlas then asked for someone who thought they were strong to come out and try to bend the frying pan. A guy from the crowd comes in and barely tries to bend the pan. Henry then folded in both sides of the frying pan. As annoying as this all was, it was still rather impressive. Out came Tommy Dreamer, who said, “that was damn impressive.” Dreamer wanted to give it a try. After a few failed attempts at bending the pan Dream took and hit Henry over the head with the pan, which bent it up rather nicely.

After the break…
Teddy Long in the back is giving Tommy Dreamer the night off, and makes him leave the building.

At 18 minutes into the show the first match gets started. Unfortunately it is Mike Knox vs. Shannon Moore. The crowd tired breaking up their boredom by mocking Knox’s resemblance to Hacksaw Jim Duggan by yelling “Ho!” repeatedly. Knox got the pinfall and the win.

Winner: Mike Knox

Back from the break…
Chavo Guerrero accompanied by Bam Neely vs. Evan Bourne

Even Bourne couldn’t make a Chavo match very interesting. Bourne did win though after hitting the Shooting Star Press and getting the three count.

Winner: Evan Bourne

To the back where Henry and Atlas meet up with Colin Delaney and tell him they know he had nothing to do with what Dreamer had done. Then Henry put him in a bear hug, followed by picking him up over his head and bodyslamming him into a big traveling case.

After the break…
Since they were in North Carolina, the main event was The Hardys vs. John Morrison & The Miz

The problem is not even a Hardys reunion could save this week’s show.

Winners: Matt & Jeff Hardy

What a horrible show this was. There were three matches total, one with Mike Knox, another which was just to progress Bourne’s climb through the ranks, and finally a tag team match that was much better when it involved Joey Mercury. It really is ridiculous that the WWE can’t put on a better show than this. I would have rather seen Colin Delaney take on Hornswaggle and Mike Adamle in a triple threat match.
