The common theme is that wrestling is fake. Truthfully, that would be not so much. The reality of wrestling is that injuries happen and you can see potential career ending ones. Droz, whom used to wrestle, was paralyzed in a freak accident in a match against D-Lo Brown. What you learned from that is anything can happen and it may not be what you would expect.

In many ways, in my personal opinion has always had a grudge against it for whatever reason. Perhaps it is bitterness that actually plays a huge role in this item. Either way, it is not going to change and that's sad.

There was an extensive coverage mainly used to bash pro wrestling with the death of Chris Benoit and the double murder-suicide case just last year. Mostly was filled with former wrestlers talking about a system they're not apart of and some of them probably were very bitter. That's just being nice on that.

Pro Wrestling Not As Fake As You Would Think

Only one death that I can remember and that was with Owen Hart. It was just a night that you don't want to really talk about too much. It was just one of those things that you just don't expect to see happen.

That's just a brief summary on that and just trying to bring out something different. Next time, it'll be history of certain championships.

The Swedish wrestler who threw away his medal in protest at the Beijing Olympics has been banned from the sport for two years.

Wrestling's governing body said last month it had suspended Ara Abrahamian and coach Leo Myllari. It said their "scandalous behaviour" showed a "serious lack of Olympic spirit."

Abrahamian disputed a call in his semifinal loss in the Greco-Roman 84-kilogram division. His Italian opponent went on to win the gold medal.

Abrahamian won his bronze medal bout but staged a protest at the ceremony.

He walked off stage and angrily dropped his medal on the mat. The IOC expelled him from the games.

Sweden's wrestling federation is also banned from hosting international events for two years.

Dream Matches

September 19th 2008 16:34
At one point or another, you got some matches that you think would have been interesting but in most cases they never happen. It could be because of being too old or could be battered up and not able to wrestle anymore. I have many matches that would have been nice and in fact I put together a wrestling card mostly with dream matches and no titles on the line. The reason being is because there would be no need to have it involved.

Now, the only true way for these matches to actually happen in the first place would be through simulation and fantasy booking. The only reason is because you look at wrestlers in certain eras and you wonder about what would happen if Wrestler A fought Wrestler B. Take for example, Hulk Hogan vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin. This would draw viewers in my opinion and would be probably one of the most hyped matches of all-time. In their prime, it would be interesting to watch and as a fan, you may not care about the outcome, it could be the excitment.

Dream Matches

What I did was actually look back and try to pick out some guys to face each other. It didn't involve titles because again would they really be needed that much? I don't think so. For myself, I would watch this event and I would think it would be pretty good. I'm sure there are many other matches that would be huge and would be cool to see.

Now the question would be about who would commentate? Well, if I have to make a rather different team, it would be JR and Bobby Heenan. Take it like both are at their best and would probably be very interesting. We've seen Heenan do well with Gorilla Monsoon and Vince McMahon, why not JR. JR has done well with Jerry Lawler and of coursed teamed up with Mick Foley until he left and Tazz on occasion until he got moved to the Smackdown brand.

Coming up after this will be a look at can pro wrestling have competition again. Enjoy.
