Thoughts on Ric Flair's Departure

August 25th 2008 00:50
As all of you know, Ric Flair has left the WWE and is currently doing tours for independent promotions mainly in the form of signing autographs. I do not see him wrestling in any independent or any company because the way he went out was so great, anything else would come up short. I don't think he will ever find a better opponent to have a better match with than Shawn Michaels for his final encounter.

I know there's the history with him and Sting but I'm afraid that's done and over with and wouldn't have nearly the same impact as it did in the past. Sure, it would be nice and all but it really isn't necessary and in my personal opinion, won't be able to pass up his last match earlier this year.

Ric Flair Retires from the Ring

He also got inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, which was really deserving. One of the reasons I think he didn't get in sooner had to due with him being active quite a bit but that's just my opinion. I could very well be wrong on that but still he deserved to get in. One big moment and this is something that is really rarely talked about is that he is the only wrestler in history to have been the NWA, WCW, and WWF World Champion. How many men can claim that feat? None at all.

Now, he has left the WWE on good terms mind you. I do not see him wrestling anywhere else and the odds of him appearing on TNA are slim to none I would say. There just wouldn't be a role that he would fit best personally. I've seen enough on the flip-flopping on retiring in sports in general and that's the last thing needed. I would hope he doesn't do what Terry Funk had become famous for, retiring multiple times only to come back though I believe now he has finally retired.

My thoughts on Ric Flair Leaving the WWE

It is a shock but I guarantee if WWE calls him to do something, he'll show up even if it is a one-time thing. I just hope it's not wrestle because he's done everything that there is to do.

That should do it. I'll be giving thoughts on WWE and TNA mainly. If you have a request from within these areas, I will be more than happy to try to write it up. Have a nice day.
