WWE Smackdown – Hershey, Pennsylvania

The show started off with Jeff Hardy coming down to ringside and pulling up a chair to watch the first match.

MVP vs. Jimmy Wang Yang

Prior to the match MVP grabbed a mic and talked to Hardy a bit. The match wasn’t very good, but in the end MVP got the pinfall.

Winner: MVP

After the match Jeff came into the ring with a mic to confront MVP. It ended with Hardy hitting a Twist of Fate.

To the back where Chavo is pushing Vickie around in her wheelchair when she spots the wedding planner and stares a hole through her.

Back to the ring… The now entirely fan-favorite Mr. Kennedy is introducing himself, with some help from the fans.

Mr. Kennedy vs. U.S. Champion Shelton Benjamin

As can be expected this match was rather good. After a series of reversals by both competitors Kennedy hit the Mic Check and got the non-title victory over Benjamin.

Winner: Mr. Kennedy Kennedy

As Shelton left the ring Eve was there to ask him what went wrong in the ring tonight. He pointed out that he shouldn’t even have been in the ring tonight because he is suffering from an acute case of bronchitis.

To the back again where Chavo is hunting for Edge and asking Ryder and Hawkins if they have seen him.

After the break…

The Brian Kendrick accompanied by Ezekial vs. Stevie Richards

Yes, he is now being called THE Brian Kendrick. Before the match he grabbed a mic to talk. Regardless of what they call him he still has the charisma of a flea, and I don’t mean one of those talented ones that joins the circus. Richards almost got the pin, but it all turned around thanks to a distraction from Zeke.

Winner: The Brian Kendrick

After the match Zeke picked Stevie up into an Overhead Backbreaker.

To the back where Edge arrives in the building.

Back from the break…

The Great Khali vs. Jeff Hardy

Khali dominated most of the match, but then he hit the Whisper in the Wind, followed by he Swanton Bomb. At this point MVP was at ringside, and Jeff’s focus turned to him. Khali would take over again and squeeze Hardy’s head between his hands until the referee called the match.

Winner: The Great Khali

We now got to see a video preview of a superstar who is heading to the WWE. That superstar, the wrestler formerly known as Ron “The Truth” Killings. He is now known as R-Truth so that McMahon could trademark the name.

Back from the break…

Maria makes her Smackdown debut.

Maria vs. Victoria

Victoria controlled most of the match, but in the end Maria prevailed in her debut.

Winner: Maria

To the back again where Edge is talking with the WEDDING PLANNER.

After the break…

The Big Show vs. Domino

Show stood Domino up on edge again and again and just kept knocking him over.

Winner: The Big Show

As Show stood in the ring celebrating out came Umaga. Before anything can happen we cut to the back again where Chavo is explaining to Vickie how he couldn’t find out who Edge’s special guest in The Cutting Edge was going to be.

After the break…

As Edge came down the ramp Jim Ross and Mick Foley speculated on who the guest might be. When Edge got to the ring there was a table, a ladder, and a chair setup. As he went on and on the fans started chanting Undertaker. He then says he found the one person who can help him win the Hell in the Cell match, and that person is his guest, Mick Foley. Foley obliged and got in the ring to be Edge’s guest. Edge then presented a video package to remind Foley of a few things. It led into clips from the now legendary footage of The Undertaker vs. Mankind in Hell in the Cell. He then tries to explain why Foley should help him beat The Undertaker. Foley explains how Edge has ruined his credibility because he has said time and time again how Edge is the greatest superstar in the WWE, but Edge has sucked lately. He went on to say how Edge is the only one that can help Edge. After Foley explains how the old Edge is the one that needs to show up at SummerSlam, Edge attacks him. Foley would get the Mandible Claw hooked on Edge, but only briefly as Edge hit him with a lowblow. Edge then lays Foley out on the table, climbs the ladder, and jumps down with the chair under his arm, putting Foley through the table. The show ended with Edge standing over Foley holding his ribs.

If not for the Mr. Kennedy - Shelton Benjamin match this entire show might have been an entire waste. It truly was the only match worth watching. Although The Cutting Edge segment was decent.

Smackdown – Charlotte, North Carolina

The show started off with a video montage hyping up Edge and Vickie Guerrero’s wedding. We then go immediately to the wedding where Chavo is being asked for the rings. He pretended he didn’t have them for a moment, but then handed them over. I was very surprised that they got it over with so quickly. Unfortunately we still had to sit through their wedding reception. After they brought everyone out Chavo wanted to say something. He read off a cheesy speech which led into talking about Edge’s match against Triple H at the pay-per-view. Next Edge talked very briefly. The wedding party would stay seated at the top of the ramp in full wedding attire as the show got underway.

Out came Finlay & Hornswaggle, once they got into the ring Edge spoke again. This time to point out how he is going to be the special guest referee for the match. Now in full tuxedos we find out that their opponents are Hawkins and Ryder. Edge took the shillelagh and threw it up towards the ramp.
Finlay & Hornswaggle vs. Curt Hawkins & Zach Ryder
Finlay hit the Celtic Cross, but then Edge speared him leading to a three count for Hawkins & Ryder.

Winners: Curt Hawkins & Zach Ryder

Now it was time for Edge and Vickie’s first dance together. It was clear this was going to be a waste of nearly two hours. I say nearly two hours cause the show is sure to have its moments here and there. Out came The Big Show to cut in by pushing Edge aside and then dancing with Vickie. Edge stops the music and tells Show to head to the ring for his match against his opponents.

The Big Show vs. Shelton Benjamin, MVP, Vladimir Koslov, & The Great Khali

Well, it is clear that they finally think Koslov is good enough to be in the ring with the top talent. After Show shoved Benjamin off with ease MVP was laughing at him, so Banjamin tagged in MVP to see what he could do. MVP approached Show, but then turned and tagged in Koslov. Koslov tried a judo throw/arm drag but of course Show blocked it, and then shoved him to the corner. Khali tagged himself in and after a bit of trash talking and some shoves back and forth Show knocked him to the mat. At this point everyone came in the ring one by one, Show fought them off a bit, but then couldn’t win the numbers game. The ref called for the bell shortly after.

Winner via disqualification: The Big Show

The beating continued with all four kicking and pounding on Show. They then picked him up to his feet so Khali could Khali Bomb him. Problem was Khali could only lift him about 6 or 8 inches off the mat, and that was with Show’s help.

After the break…
Vickie was in the ring with her bouquet, and was ready to throw it to someone, if only she could hear herself over the crowd noise. A few of the Divas were lined up to catch it. Michelle McCool and Natalya started fighting, and Vickie had Hawkins and Ryder come down to remove Michelle. She threw it, Cherry caught it, and then Vickie said that catching it entitles her to a special match tonight, against Vickie. Well, on the brightside at least they got rid of the wheelchair. After a pause Vickie points out before she can face her that she would have to face Natalya. This match lasted 5 seconds with Cherry tapping out to the Sharpshooter. Then Vickie got her turn and pinned Cherry awkwardly.

Back from the break…
Jimmy Wang Yang vs. Brian Kendrick accompanied by Ezekial

As Yang came out Mick Foley said, “Jimmy Wang Yang looks well rested, doesn’t he, J.R.?” Well sure he does, the suspension for violating the WWE Wellness Policy will allow you to rest quite a bit. They have obviously decided to try and make Kendrick a more flamboyant and cocky personality, which by the way will never work. He was accompanied by Ezekial who distracted Yang as he went to the top rope, this allowed Kendrick to grab him from behind and slam him to the mat for the pin. Kendrick tried to flaunt more of his new attitude after the match, but it just looked ridiculous. He has no charisma or showmanship at all, and overacts everything he does. They need to find a quick way to make Ezekial into his own personality so that Kendrick can fade into the locker room again. Ezekial has some potential, underneath the white button-down shirt that was open he looked to be about the size of a Bobby Lashley. I doubt he will catch on as well as Lashley did, but he has a chance to make a name for himself.

Winner: Brian Kendrick

To the back where Edge bumps into Terry the Slim Jim guy who gives him his wedding present, a box of Slim Jims.

Back from the break…
Mr. Kennedy vs. Umaga

Kennedy’s transition to fan favorite is pretty much complete now. He is now encouraging the fans to yell his name along with him. In perfect fan fav form, Umaga had a one-handed sleeper hold/nerve hold on Kennedy. The ref raised his arm twice and it fell to the mat, one more time and the match would be over. Charles Robinson raised his arm up, and it fell almost to the mat, but Kennedy raised his arm up ,and got out of the hold. Back from the break… Umaga was still controlling the match. After blocking a Mic Check, Umaga hit the Samoan Spike and got the pin.

Winner: Umaga

Now Mick Foley and Jim Ross point out why the guy gave Edge a box of Slim Jims for a wedding present. It seems that Edge has been named the new spokesman for Slim Jims. They then showed a new commercial starring Edge. It was actually rather disturbing. Snap into your spicy side, oh yeah. He certainly is no Randy Macho Man Savage!

After the break…
WWE Tag Team Champions John Morrison & The Miz vs. Jesse & Festus

This wasn’t a very good commercial for the PPV, which is exactly what it was meant to be. In the end Festus was fighting with Morrison on the floor, while Miz hit the Reality Check and got the pin.

Winners: John Morrison & The Miz

Since they are still in North Carolina you have to give the fans what they want, so out came Matt and Jeff Hardy. Only this time they will be facing one another instead of teaming together. They actually came walking out together. They paused at the top of the ramp near the wedding party. They grabbed the cake and threw it into Chavo’s face, and then headed to the ring.

After the break…
This match was decent, although it did look much more like an exhibition. After a bit the wedding party charged the ring and attacked both brothers. While they held up each brother Edge hit them with a spear.
Winner: No Contest

Back from the break…
The wedding reception has now moved into the ring. Edge starts off talking, and talking endlessly. He then shows a video package for Vickie remembering some moments in their relationship. Luckily as my stomach turned the festivities were interrupted. Out came Triple H carrying a present for thehappy couple. He stopped at the top of the ramp, and started talking. He starts off by saying how he is not out there to tell them he is secretly married to Vickie Guerrero, as he did when Stephanie McMahon was about to be married to Test. Instead he is there to celebrate true love. He has brought some gifts of his own to show just how he feels. He has made a video of his own, that just expresses the love that Edge feels for Vickie. To the tape… Edge hears a knock on the door, pops some breath mints, and then lets the person in. It is Alicia Fox aka the wedding planner, the night before the wedding, Edge wants to talk about the schedule for the next day. At this point Triple H pauses the video to apologize that the beginning of the tape is so boring and just about the wedding planning. Back to the tape for “the good stuff”, this is when Edge starts to make his awkward moves on Fox. At first the planner is reluctant, but then he tricks her into massaging his trapezoid muscle. At this point Vickie is becoming more and more upset. Triple H pauses again and make some comments about how men always invite women up to their rooms when their wives aren’t around so they can get massages. Edge says he is tired of this and sends the gang up the ramp to get Triple H. Triple H said he expected something like this might happen, which brings him to his second gift, he pulls out a sledgehammer. This causes la familia to stay down at ringside. Back to the tape, where Edge is now massaging Alicia’s back. The tape then showed them talking about how he had gone to get Vickie some lingerie at Victoria Secret, but they didn’t have her size, so he was sent to Lane Bryant. He said that when he got there and saw her size it was huge. They both had a laugh over this. Vickie was fuming. Triple H paused the tape again to point out that he was embarrassed for not watching the tape before now, and how that segment just totally ruins gift #3, a large pair of women’s underwear. He says how Edge already has that covered, “but what the hell, I could always park my car under it.” Now back to the tape for the final chapter in the love saga. Edge and Fox begin making out. Vickie begins screaming and hitting Edge. Edge leaves the ring and heads up the ramp as Vickie continues screaming wildly as the show goes off the air.

Kristal Marshall image
Kristal Marshall left the WWE after refusing to do this storyline.
Ever wonder if the Smackdown writers sit around and ask, "What can we do to make the show worse?" Well the answer to that question is put Edge and Vickie in the show in such a way that they are out at ringside or on the ramp for the entire show! This was a ridiculous episode. We have now seen the rather idiotic storyline that caused Kristal to quit the WWE. She was to play the role of Alicia Fox in this whole thing, but felt the whole storyline was immoral. Somewhere Eddie Guerrero is smiling down on Kristal right now. We can only hope the storyline fully goes away now.

As for the parts of the show that weren't wedding reception related, which were few and far between, there wasn't much to get excited about. It might be nice to actually see a match between Matt and Jeff Hardy at some point.

Smackdown – Baton Rouge, Louisiana

The show started off with Edge in the ring talking, rambling really. His usual whining and crying about being robbed, and reaffirming his break up with Vickie Guerrero. Vickie would eventually comes out, being pushed in her wheelchair by Ryder & Hawkins. She tells Edge about his match for the night to help him prepare for his title match at The Great American Bash next Sunday against Triple H. The match is a no disqualification match against The Big Show. It seems Vickie wants a bit of revenge on Edge.

After the break…
U.S. Champion Matt Hardy vs. Shelton Benjamin (non-title)

This wasn’t a very exciting match, it might have been had it been the first time we had seen it, but it wasn’t. In a surprise twist though, Shelton Benjamin got the three count and won the non-title match.

Winner: Shelton Benjamin

To the back in Vickie’s office where Ryder and Hawkins are talking with her. They assure her that they will always be there for her, and whatever she wants to do to get revenge on Edge is fine with them. All they want is a shot at revenge for themselves, a rematch against Jesse & Festus.

Back from the break…
MVP is now out at the announce table to help with commentary for the next match.

Mr. Kennedy vs. Domino

Kennedy made a comment on how he is more valuable than a certain MVP prior to the match, I mention this because I am sure it will come into play later. Kennedy controlled the majority of the match which was mainly to setup/renew a feud between Kennedy and MVP. Kennedy hit the Night Check and got the pin.

Winner: Mr. Kennedy Kennedy

After the match MVP stood up and he and Kennedy were exchanging words. As Kennedy turned around Umaga hit him with a big kick to the throat, picked him up, and then hit him with the Samoan Spike.

To the back again, this time with Edge, Chavo Guerrero, and Bam Neeley. Chavo says he is going to straighten it out with Vickie, and how he and Edge will always be family. I found it curious that he didn’t say familia, but instead family. As we headed to commercial Chavo said he was heading to Vickie’s office.

Back from the break…
Vickie is talking on the phone, in walks Chavo (and Bam) saying he has to talk to her. He says he can’t believe how Edge called off the wedding, and starts trashing Edge. He continued saying how he and Vickie will always be Guerreros, how they will always be family, again it is curious he said family again and not familia. Vickies tells him to cut the crap, and puts Chavo in a match with Triple H.

Out to the ring, it seems tey don’t want to bother using the Smackdown roster. Earlier we had Matt Hardy of ECW, now we have a tag team match with two teams from ECW.

John Morrison & The Miz vs. Finlay & Hornswaggle

Well at least this time this match isn’t on a $40 pay-per-view. Hornswaggles was much more involved this time around. It ended with Finlay hitting Miz in the head with the shillelagh, followed by a Tadpole Splash from Hornswaggle, and a three count.

Winners: Finlay & Hornswaggle

After the break…
A video package of a photo shoot with Jeff Hardy for the cover of the new WWE Magazine.

WWE Champion Triple H vs. Chavo Guerrero accompanied by Bam Neeley (non-title)

Triple H of course controlled the match early, it took Neeley interfering for Chavo to mount any offense at all. The Game would turned it around quickly again, hit the Pedigree, and get the pinfall.

Winner: Triple H

Back from the break…
Natalya & Maryse vs. Michelle McCool & Cherry

It wasn’t that bad of a match. In the end Natalya worked on Cherry’s legs, eventually slapping on the Sharpshooter. Cherry tapped out almost instantly.

Winners: Natalya & Maryse

After the match Natalya attacked Michelle from behind in the ring, then kicked her out to the floor. She followed her out and hit a snap suplex on the floor right in front of the announce table and the Diva’s Championship belt.

Back from the break…
Jesse & Festus vs. Ryder & Hawkins

WWE Festus image
This is the face... the face of a guy in need of a new gimmick.
This was an odd match. Ryder and Hawkins weren’t faring too well, so they both stepped down to the floor and purposely got counted out.

Winners via countout: Jesse & Festus

Ryder and Hawkins plan then became apparent. The bell rang, Festus went back to being docile, and they moved in. Ryder and Hawkins attacked Jesse, then dumped him out to the floor, and turned to start beating on Festus. Jesse now on the floor just feet from the bell got up and rang the bell. Festus went wild again and took out both Ryder and Hawkins.

Back from the break…
Stevie Richards (yet another ECW roster member) vs. Vladimir Koslov

Koslov now has entrance music! His training must have progressed to the point that they wanted to finally spend the money to make the entrance theme for him. Obviously it hasn’t gotten to the point where they trust him in the ring with top talent yet though. This week he gets Stevie Richards who hasn’t had a TV match for months. The last time I remember seeing him in the ring was right after he returned to ECW and battled with Mike Knox endlessly. In the short time it took me to type all of that, the match is now over. Obviously it wasn’t very exciting.

Winner: Vladimir Koslov

To the back again, this time we get the whole freak show at once. Edge is arguing with Chavo and Bam, and in walks Ryder and Hawkins. Edge settles them down and suggests they all go to the ring with him. As he mentions that the arguing restarts. For once seeing Vickie was a good thing,in she rolled to say that if any of them go out and help Edge she would fire them. She then told Edge that if he tries in any way to not go through with the match that she would fire him. She ended it with telling him to go out and take his beating like a man. . . if he was indeed a man.

After the break…
No Disqualification Match
The Big Show vs. Edge

Vickie actually got wheeled out to the top of the ramp by Ryder and Hawkins so she could watch the beating. The Big Show was manhandling Edge for the most part until Edge hit him with a spear on the floor. After the break… Vickie is now down at ringside watching. Edge is getting a Kendo Stick from under the ring. Show blocked the shot from the kendo stick, and picked Edge up for a slam, but Edge took the tip of the stick and jabbed it into Show’s throat. This only slowed him briefly, Show took over again. Edge hit Show with a shot from the ring barrier, and followed with a shot over his head with the Kendo Stick. Now back in the ring, Edge gets on Show’s back putting on some strange version of a sleeper hold. Show fell to one knee, but then rose back up and hit Edge with a sidewalk slam. Show hit a headbutt, a splash in the corner, and a big shoulder tackle. He then went for the chokeslam, but Edge reversed it and hit a DDT. He pinned him but was thrown across the ring as Show kicked out. Edge then went out after two chairs. As Edge charged at him with one of the chairs Show punched it and sent it into Edge. Edge then hit Show with a low blow, followed by a chair shot over the back. He then placed a chair under Show’s head, and was going to go for his fangled version of the Con-chair-to. Show rached up and grabbed him for a chokeslam. Big Show then set Edge up for his own Con-chair-to. As he raised the chair up over his head Vickie screamed to stop the match as she climbed into the ring to go check on Edge. Vickie helped Edge up to a sitting position. He looked dazed as she was telling him that she loves him. Unfortunately he said he loves her too and asked her if she will marry him. They then had one of those uncomfortable kisses in the middle of the ring.

Well, there were eight matches in this two hour show, sadly they weren’t very good or exciting matches. I really don’t have many comments on the show other than it was not very good at all. The restart of the Edge - Vickie storyline is horrible. The look on Edge’s face at the end looked like “well I will say this until after she helps me cheat Triple H out of the belt, and then break it off for good.” If that isn’t the case it probably means that they will be going through with the storyline that made Kristal quit. The storyline was supposed to end with Vickie catching Edge cheating on her with Kristal. Although now since Kristal felt it was immoral and refused to do it, you have to replace her name with whatever the name of Edge and Vickie’s wedding planner’s name is.

Maybe it is time for McMahon to downsize things, or find better writers. Apparently head writer Michael Hayes might make better decisions when he is drinking. For those that missed it he had to go through rehab, and has been told that if he drinks again, he is fired.

Triple H on Smackdown.

WARNING! This post contains SPOILERS if you are reading prior to July 4, 2008.

Michael Cole image
Michael Cole addresses the Smackdown crowd one last time.
As the Smackdown! taping started Michael Cole came out to the ring for his “farewell” to the show. While he was still talking Jim Ross’s music started to play. As you might know his entrance music is the Oklahoma University fight song, so being in Tulsa the crowd went even more crazy than then normal.

Jim Ross image
Jim Ross interupts.
He pointed out how Cole forgot to mention that he lives in Texas, and suggested that he takes his ass out of the ring and go to the back. The crowd booed him up the ramp. I am pretty sure you won’t see this on the show Friday since it was the portion where the announcers were coming down to ringside. Out came Mick Foley shortly after.

Once they were out the crew finished setting up the ring for the opening of the show, once we spotted them moving a couch in the dark we knew the show would open with The V.I.P. Lounge. Out came M.V.P. to a chorus of boos, he then waited in the ring for the show to start.
Smackdown Pyrotechnics
No matter how much they warn you, you aren't prepared for the noise!
The televised show will begin with his music playing. He started to introduce his guest, and once he got to “My guest is a twelve-time champion” the informed 2/3 of the crowd went nuts cause we knew it was Triple H. After his entrance they sat on the couch and chatted. The whole segment was rather comical. In all the years and all the “interview segments” like the V.I.P. Lounge how come Triple H has never had one of his own? He is easily the funniest WWE Superstar, it would be enjoyable. Obviously that answer is, he doesn’t need the show to “get over” in the business, but then neither did Rowdy Roddy Piper. I won’t go into detail of the Lounge because their comic timing will be much better than mine would be here, but make sure you watch it, it is hilarious. will say Vickie Guerrero came out at one point, but that only added to the humor for a change.

Triple H, MVP, Vickie Guerrero image
Triple H and MVP talk with Vickie.

Next they brought out a podium for the new Divas Championship belt to sit on, and affixed a pole with a giant star hanging from it to the corner of the ring. It was time to decide who would face Natalya to decide the first champion.
Michelle McCool image
Michelle McCool works the crowd before the match.
The participants in the match are the same as last time; Michelle McCool, Kelly Kelly, Cherry, Victoria, and Maryse. In the end Michelle McCool would retrieve the star and win the chance to battle Natalya for the belt.

The next match was Ryder & Hawkins vs. Jesse & Festus. Keep in mind this will be airing on the Fourth of July.
Jesse & Festus image
Jesse & Festus stand victorious, momentarily.
Festus was dressed up like Uncle Sam, complete with fake beard. Even in the ridiculous outfit Festus controlled most of the match. Jesse and Festus would win, but after the match was over Edge made his first appearance of the night. He came down and the three of them beat on Jesse & Festus. Edge went and got a chair and smashed it across Festus’s head as the other two held Jesse prone so he couldn’t help.

After a short video package of Jeff Hardy it was time for him to make his return to Smackdown!. The crowd went absolutely nuts!
Jeff Hardy suplexes John Morrison image
Jeff Hardy suplexes John Morrison.
His opponent was John Morrison. It was an exciting match, but what else would you expect with Jeff in the ring. Hardy would eventually hit the Twist of Fate and get the pin.

Next up, the Samoan Bulldozer, Umaga. He had a somewhat surprising opponent though. . . Smackdown’s #1 Reporter, Funaki. This match didn’t last all that long, and of course Umaga was victorious.

To the back where Vickie and a frustrated Edge are having a disagreement. She mentions that he was stupid for going to Raw Monday, and that she didn’t even give him permission to go. That set him off. Watch for the rest of the details on that part of the story.

WWE Superstars image
Matt Hardy heads to the ring to defend his U.S. Title.
The next match was a “Fatal Fourth of July-Way” for the United States Championship. The combatants Champion Matt Hardy, Shelton Benjamin, Chavo Guerrero (with Bam Neely), and Mr. Kennedy. It was an exciting match, watch for a lot of moves where one guy uses another as a weapon to hit a third one. In the end Matt hardy retains his belt.

Then Edge came down to the ring to talk, and talk, and talk. We greeted him with a nice “You Suck” chant. He went on about how he has had the hardest week in his life professionally, and personally. Also how Vickie wasn’t even supporting him. He then said he had secrets about her that everyone would like to know. At this point Vickie actually came hobbling out with no wheelchair to ask why he was doing this. Stop reading this paragraph here if you don’t want to know how this portion turns out, because it will be fun to watch on your own. . . OK, last chance to scroll down to the next paragraph. . .
Edge told her the wedding was off! Woohoo!
Vickie Guerrero image
Vickie Guerrero on the entrance ramp.
The crowd cheered gleefully and let out a sigh of relief simultaneously. Everyone was overjoyed that the storyline had been killed. A crushed Vickie sat at the top of the ramp throwing a tantrum / having a breakdown.

OK, IT IS SAFE TO READ AGAIN. . .

Next up was the main event, which by the way was different than I had stated in my post last night. Apparently they didn’t adjust the commercial after the draft took place. It was now Mark Henry & Edge vs. The Big Show & Triple H.
Triple H, the Big Show image
Triple H enters the ring.
This was a fun and exciting match. It started off with Show mocking Edge and pretending to cry on Triple H’s shoulder, followed by Triple H mocking Henry’s “strongman” posture. This portion is also a hilarious must see. The match went on, but Edge never participated. When Henry went over for a tag he jumped off the ring apron and walked to the back leaving Henry on his own.

Edge walks away image
Edge walks out on the match.
The match was over soon after as Triple H pinned Henry. Triple H and The big Show stuck around at ringside for a good ten minutes celebrating with the crowd after the show had ended. Triple H spent some time talking to “The Sign Guy” who was at ringside, as he has been all week. For those that don’t know him he is the guy in the blue shirt with a red hat sitting in the first row on last week’s Smackdown!, at Night of Champions, on Monday’s Raw, and of course now ECW, and Smackdown from this week. I have one picture of him, but it isn’t a very good one.

Triple H image
Triple H closes the show at the top of the ramp.

Back to my comments on why they need to split the shows up. . . Matt Hardy, Chavo, and John Morrison all wrestled twice throughout the night. That's just not right. Even if they don't want to split the shows up, since they know the ECW shows wouldn't fill up, they need to make it so everyone wrestles just once within the whole show.

All in all it was a really fun show to attend. They also announced they would be returning to Tulsa very soon. I am hoping this means we get a Raw taping, or maybe even a pay-per-view once our new arena opens in September. (The BOK Center) Hope you enjoy the show Friday, I will be looking for myself on TV as I watch it.

Smackdown! – San Jose, California

This week’s show started with MVP in the ring to talk, a pleasant upgrade from the norm of Vickie Guerrero, or was it? He talked about how he would be happy to go to any other brand during the upcoming draft, and commented how anyone would be able to better use his talents than the current Smackdown! management . This of course upset GM Vickie Guerrero and out she came, accompanied by Ryder and Hawkins. After all the endless talking Vickie made a match between MVP and the ECW Champion Kane.

WWE Smackdown! Wrap Up 6-6-08

June 9th 2008 02:55
Smackdown from The Staples Center in Los Angeles, California

The show started of as it has way too many times, thiw week with Vickie, Ryder, Hawkins, Chavo and Neeley in the ring with champagne. After the crowd quieted down slightly Vickie introduced “the man responsible for banishing the Undertaker from all of the WWE, and new World Heavyweight Champion, Edge.” He came out and planted an awkward kiss on her lips and tells her that she completes him. He then goes on to congratulate himself on winning the title and getting rid of the Undertaker. Then he raises a toast “To the deadman, may he rest in peace.” At this point the lights went out and everyone was anticipating the Undertaker being in the ring when they came back on. Edge planned for the lights to go out as a joke.
