Nick Hogan's Conversations from Prison

Nick Hogan's Conversations from Prison.
Many of you have probably heard of TMZ, they recently posted an audio tape of conversations of Nick Hogan talking with his dad, mom, and grandmother from a prison phone. Of course all the conversations on those phones are recorded to look for illegal activity and such, but someone saw an opportunity to cash in, and I am sure they cashed in big.
TMZ criticizes the family on their site. In the tape you can hear Hulk Hogan saying how John must have done some bad stuff for God to have done this to him. Now sure Nick was driving the car, and I agree needs to take responsibility for it, BUT millions and millions of people in this world will tell you “God must have had his reason for doing …”, or “God works in mysterious ways”. So, what exactly is wrong with Hogan thinking that this happened for some reason known only to God?
They also criticize Nick’s mom, Linda’s comments about John’s parents who are naming not only Nick, but Linda and Hulk in the lawsuit seeking damages. John was the passenger in the car when Nick had the accident, he is still on a ventilator with severe head injuries, his mother described him as being in a “semi-conscious state”.
The final snippet of the conversation was Nick’s grandmother joking around with Nick about the food choice of the day.
I wonder what the rest of the tapes included? Why pick out just the tiny snippets which could be taken out of context?
Keep in mind that John Graziano was like a member of Hogan’s family who probably spent more time at their house than anywhere else. He was also 24 years old, whereas Nick was just 17. He was also not wearing a seatbelt which helped lead to his broken skull and other severe injuries. Again, I am not trying to say Nick is not at fault here, he has quite a bit of responsibility in the whole matter, and is serving his jail time as we speak.
Nick was sentenced to eight months in prison, Graziano’s own family requested just a year of jail time, when it could have been up to five years. Nick will also be on probation for five years, one condition of this probation is no alcohol. His driving privileges have also been stripped for three years.
When I first posted this article yesterday I titled it, "Hogan Tapes Leaked or Stolen." Someone was nice enough to post an anonymous comment pointing out I was wrong, and that the tapes were public record. They however used wording about my head being stuffed elsewhere on my body. I would like to apologize for any confusion I may have caused, and also thank "Anonymous" for helping out so nicely, whoever they may be.
Anyway, his comment prompted me to do some searching. I did indeed come to realize that prison phone conversations can indeed be requested by the media (some say by anyone), especially in the state of Florida who had a big ruling about it awhile back. Personally, I am shocked about that. I mean sure you give up freedoms once you enter prison, but I don't think that means anything you talk about to loved ones on the phone can be requested by the public, or media! Would you want someone to be able to get a hold of your conversations like that? What if a stalker of some sort requested them and got them, isn't the thought of that just a bit scary? Well, I can't change the laws, so enough about that.
While I was searching though I read many, many comments. Some defending the Hogan's others ridiculing them. Some said that he had his life aired on a reality series on TV, so that makes every aspect of his life an open book, and that this is the same thing. I disagree, when he is on Hogan Knows Best it is something he willingly agreed to and gets paid rather well for. This is to me just an invasion of privacy. (Which many will say he has no right to while in prison, but again I feel there is a line in there somewhere, and this crossed it.)
Others ridiculed the people posting comments in defense of Nick and his family. In many cases the people defending them were simply pointing out how John Graziano was an adult and made bad choices that night too. As I stated earlier, he was a 24 year old (Many are quick to point out Iraqi war vet, which yes I as most Americans appreciate, but I don't see how it has anything to do with here, other than making his own decisions worse.) Now where was I? Oh yes, he was a assumedly intelligent 24 year old adult hanging out with a 17 year old minor. He then chose to get into a car with that minor, after drinking quite a bit while together, and not even bothering to buckle his seatbelt. There is also the other friend who no one mentions driving the other car they were racing, but like I said no one mentions him. Ultimately the biggest mistake of the incident was John not buckling his seatbelt. Nick did, and is in relatively good health at the moment.
At least one comment I read was from someone who had lost some one in a street racing accident. Who said how she will never get over losing her brother. I understand entirely, I had a friend who lost his life the same way, and this was way before certain bad Vin Diesel movies came out. Of course you don't get over it, as with any losses you deal with it a lifetime. All I am trying to say is, I feel even my friend that lost his life while flipping in his friends Pontiac Grand Prix doing somewhere close to 100MPH on a local highway (as the passenger and not even drunk) was responsible for what happened to him. He made the decision to get in the car, and also did not buckle his seatbelt. If he sees me as I write this I have a hunch he is shaking his head in agreement, he was a pretty smart guy, just made some stupid decisions.
In closing, please do feel free to discuss the matter further here on The Wrestling Wrap Up. I only ask that you be respectful to one another as you do. I don't understand how some of the posts I read were allowed to stay posted. I will delete posts that are disrespectful to someone, and cannot have an decent open discussion on the matter.
One word of warning before you click to listen to the tapes, the word “S**t” is used a couple of times.
